Bedroom Design is a unique activity for middle school technology education that is underpinned by a “hybrid” instructional model that helps to transform instruction in technology education. The model preserves the hands-on physical laboratory activity that has engaged generations of students, but incorporates an IT-based engineering design approach that will accelerate technology education’s transition to a contemporary STEM-based discipline. A day-by-day activity guide for instructors is provided. Student knowledge and skill builders (KSBs) are embedded within the day-by-day schedule.
